The Harry Potter Saga in Six Minutes - VIDEO

So, the final Harry Potter movie came out today. My son lost interest in Harry two movies ago, but I really want to see how the whole thing ends, so I'll be seeing it by myself. (Nope, I haven't read any of the books. GASP!)

I'm curious... who among you is planning to go?  And who already braved one of those midnight showings?

And, in case you need to brush up on your Potter back story, here's a video from Warner Brothers that gives you the whole thing, and a preview of the end, in about six minutes. My, those kids have grown. Just listen to how high Harry and Ron's voices were in the beginning. Enjoy!

Angel Delgadillo - the Guardian Angel of Route 66 - VIDEO

In my next book (The Mother Road, Abingdon Press, April 2012), two sisters set off on a journey, part of which takes them down historic Route 66. I came across this video of Angel Delgadillo, resident of Seligman, AZ, who carries the well-earned title "Guardian Angel of Route 66." It's a great example of the reach one person can have, and the joy he can bring into other people's lives. Hope you enjoy it.

A New Voice for the Aflac Duck

I don't generally care about corporate mascots, but this time, it's different. Maybe it's because the duck is so cute. Maybe it's because he's always so earnest. Whatever the reason, I'm pretty happy that the duck's got a new voice.

Yes, it's been a while since I posted something new. This is because I'm on a tight deadline, and of course, everything else that could happen, did. But I started seeing this video pop up all over the place and it's so funny, I have to share it on the off chance you haven't seen it yet.

Let me be very clear... this is a SPOOF video of the TLC show Toddlers & Tiaras made by Tom Hanks and his daughter, Sophie. It aired when he was on the Jimmy Kimmel show, and is one of the funniest videos I've seen. Enjoy the laugh, and the surprise cameos at the end.

Just for Fun - Any Woman Could Tell You Who'd Win This Race

By now, you've probably already seen clips from this horse race that took place last Sunday. But here's the whole race. The names of the horses that come in first and second are awesome, but there are some other pretty good ones in there, too. Makes the whole race pretty unique. And kudos to the announcer for holding it together!

Isaiah Mustafa became a seemingly overnight sensation with his deadpan pitches for Old Spice body wash. Now, the beautifully buff, vocally-velvet actor is doing his part to support libraries. I don't think he's going to stop there. What do you think? How long before we find a book on the shelf with his name on the spine?

This is probably the funniest commercial I've seen in a long time. Whoever came up with it should get a bonus. Not only do I stop to watch whenever it's on, but I can tell you exactly what product they're selling... Old Spice body wash!
