Just for Fun: New Lady Gaga Parody from Weird Al

I confess... I follow Weird Al on Twitter. Today, he put a link up to his blog with the story of this song. Apparently, Al was told by Gaga's manager that she did not approve of the song, so he wouldn't use it on his new album. But then he heard back from the manager with an apology. Seems he rejected the song without letting Gaga hear it, and when she did, she loved it. So now Al gets to use it on his new album.

Thought you might enjoy hearing it. (BTW, as of this posting, he still hadn't updated the disclaimer at the beginning of the video, but he added a comment saying she's given her approval.)

Have fun!

Just for Fun - THRILLER... Bollywood Style

It's downright frightening how little I blogged during October. Hopefully, next month will be better. That's the plan, anyway. For now, I present you with this entertaining little video...

Bollywood salutes Thriller

Enjoy!

Just for Fun - Smells Like Rockin' Robin Mashup

My friends Nate and Cora clued me into this video. It's a pretty amazing mashup of two songs you'd never expect to go together: Rockin' Robin by the Jackson 5 and Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvanna. Warning... once you hear it, it's going to stay in your head for awhile. Enjoy!

Mr. T says "Treat Your Mother Right"

To all the moms out there, here's a big shout out to you from none other than Mr. T (after the insults are over). Thanks to my friend, Nate, for bringing this video to my attention.

Be blessed, moms!

Take a trip back to the seventies with Leonard Nimoy & Bilbo Baggins

I couldn't believe it when I stumbled on this video on YouTube. My mother owned this album, and I remember listening to it a lot as a kid. But who knew there was a video?

Granted, the image quality is pretty bad and the whole thing is maximum cheese. You can't help wondering, "What was he thinking?" But you also can't beat if for nostalgia!

I now give you Leonard Nimoy singing "The Ballad of Bilbo Baggins."

It's a cruel summer... Seriously

It gets hot here in Vegas. In fact, we've been hovering around 108 since last Friday. Which makes this the worst time of the year for the AC to go out. Which mine did last Saturday.

I'm happy to report it's working again, but that's after spending two days living in my own personal jerky maker. Yesterday I threw my hands up in defeat and checked into a hotel where I kept finding myself saying, "Man, it's cold in here!"

Anyway, I'm a bit behind on a lot of stuff. So today, I'd just like to share a bit of Weird Al joy with you. It's Skipper Dan, his new single from the "Internet Leaks" collection. Having grown up less than an hour from Disneyland, this send up of the Jungle Cruise tour guides is especially close to my heart. He even grabbed my favorite joke: It's the backside of water! Check out the video directed by Divya Srinivasan.

Amy Grant - She Colors My Day

I've been an Amy Grant fan for a long time. So it's funny that my son decided not to like her music, simply because "I can't like everything you do, Mom." So it's nothing personal, Amy. Just the mildest case of teenage rebellion ever!

Enjoy this sweet video for Amy's new song, She Colors My Day.
